2024 Term 2 Week 6
Principal Report
Dear Parents/Carers,
Winter is just around the corner and the mornings are very chilly at school. Could parents please ensure that their children have a labelled blue jumper (no hoodies) in their bag. Students will also be very busy in their classrooms working on their assessments, so regular attendance is essential so they don’t miss any important information or get behind in their work.
10am - Fruit Snack - Can parents please ensure that their children have fruit in their lunchbox. I have discontinued the fruit box deliveries due to the costs involved.
Mrs Alford is continuing to work with all age groups in preparation for our Mini Sports Day. This will be held in Week 8. Wednesday - will be the older children’s field events before we come together on the Friday as a whole school sports day. More information will be sent out closer to the event.
Reminders
School uniforms – The weather has decided to throw not only rain at us but also a chilly breeze. Could parents/students please make sure that they have a jumper (labelled with their name) on or in their bag. Just a reminder that short socks are also part on our Amamoor SS uniform
Before School - If parents/carers are working, students are able to go into 5/6 room from 8:00 am to 8:20am then they will go to the library for sight words and reading. Bus students will also go to 5/6 room until advised to go to the library.
After School – Just a quick reminder - Amamoor has a fantastic Homework Centre that the school runs to assist families that are working or unable to pick their children up at 3:00pm. We have been capped at 24 students that are able access this. These numbers have been reaching the capped levels in the last few weeks.
PBL Focus – ‘Be Responsible For Your Behaviour’. Students have been practising – Stop, Breathe, Think of a nice way to discuss the situation and then speak nicely. This has been working with most children and it is really nice to see the team spirit come back into their games.
A note has been sent home this week introducing the new Teaching Principal, Rosalie Reynolds, that will start in Term 3. Thank you again for your support and kindness during my time at Amamoor SS.
Thank you for another GREAT week at Amamoor State School!!!
