2024 Term 3 Week 10
Principal Report
Happy holidays everyone! It has been a wonderful term with time just flying by!
Teacher aide day was a special day to celebrate the value our Amamoor Teacher Aides add to the teaching and learning that is undertaken across the school. They are competent, enthusiastic and professional, often silent achiever people. We love your work Donna, Debbie and George! Thank you for all you do for our community!
On Monday, we welcomed Mathew Middleton and his wife Juliet for a native bee incursion supported by Pick of the Crop. We learnt all about different bees, habitats, created three different types of bee hotels and installed a native bee hive. It will not be hard to miss! The students have been very excited checking to see if there is increased activity around the hive. Once it is established the mother hive will be removed. We look forward to doing our part to support our vital ecosystem.
Our entire school should be commended for the effort they displayed at the Mary Valley Poetry Day. We were lucky to have some students and groups of students place but all students that presented poems should feel very proud. A huge thank you to Mrs Alford and all of our staff for the enormous effort over the term practising and creating wonderful costumes for them.

Wow hasn’t the term gone fast! Before long we’ll be thinking about Christmas and all that goes with it. I’m already thinking about my Christmas light display.
Here at school I’ve been keeping busy working with students and supporting staff. Helping with PE has been interesting as students develop various athletic skills . Whether that be with shooting hoops or volleyball etc.
Some of our students have been enjoying playing handball with me, and seeing who can get me out. (I can still show them a few moves). I have also been up on the oval during soccer games. I enjoy seeing how the students embrace having all year levels involved in the game, and the caring attitude toward the younger students. (Some of the younger one’s could teach the older students a thing or two about soccer.)
I’ve continued to work with some students around the issue of friendship and helping out with buddy class.
And let’s not forget Breaky Club. I think that all our students look forward to coming to school and having some healthy fruit and toast to start their day. Plus it also provides an opportunity for social interaction with them as they enjoy their breaky.
That's it for this term. I hope that everyone has a very relaxing holiday. Stay safe
