2025 TERM 1 WEEK 8
Principal Report

We’re now finished up with Week 8, and it’s incredible to see the progress our students have made this term! With just a few weeks left before the break, we encourage everyone to stay focused and finish strong.
Coming up we have some exciting events, including Cross Country Carnival, School Photos, Swimming Carnival. It’s a great opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and hard work. We would love to see you supporting our students at these events.
A quick reminder to check in on assignments and upcoming assessments—consistent effort now will pay off as we approach the end of term. We have included some information further in the newsletter regarding Free Kindy and our Improvement Focus of reading across our curriculum.
Our P&C held their AGM this week and we welcome our new committee for 2025.
Thank you to our outgoing committee members. Your efforts—whether through fundraising, event planning, or simply being a strong voice for our school community—make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students and staff. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate the time, energy, and passion you bring to everything you do. Thank you for being such an essential part of our school’s success!
It was a pleasure to see support from our P&C members on Tuesday as they did a gardening working bee. Must have been lots of fun as they are continuing every Tuesday for the rest of Term 1 from 9am.
Soon we will welcome our new School Chaplain Kimberly to our community. We know that our students, families and staff will make her feel at home. She will be here to provide guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to anyone who needs it.
As always, thank you for your continued support in making our school a thriving learning community.
Office Updates
Important Reminder - Sign In at the Office
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting Education Queensland schools, helping to enrich students' learning experiences. Whether assisting in the classroom, the library or at school events, your contribution is invaluable. However, it's essential that all volunteers sign in upon arrival. Here's why:
1. Student Safety & Security.
Signing in ensures the school knows who is on campus at all times, helping to maintain a secure environment. It also allows staff to quickly identify authorized individuals in case of an emergency.
2. Emergency Preparedness
In the event of a fire, lockdown or other emergency, schools need an accurate record of everyone on site.
3. Legal & Duty of Care Requirements
Education Queensland has policies in place to protect students, staff and volunteers. Signing in helps schools meet their legal obligations and duty of care responsibilities, ensuring a safe and compliant volunteering environment.
4. Recognition of Your Contribution
By signing in, you help schools keep rack of volunteer hours, which can be useful for reporting and recognizing the valuable work you do. We appreciate volunteers and acknowledge their contributions.
By following this simple process, you're helping to create a safer, more organized and welcoming school environment for everyone.

5/6 Classroom
The Y5/6 class has been immersed in Australian literature through a captivating novel by Jackie French. After completing their reading, students crafted insightful book reviews complete with ratings, showcasing their critical thinking skills. They then took on the exciting challenge of writing scripts for a podcast-style book review, which they performed and recorded in front of a live audience. With such talent and enthusiasm, it’s clear that this class has some future podcast and radio stars in the making!
