2025 TERM 3 WEEK 6
PRINCIPAL REPORT

Firstly, a huge thank you to you all for your understanding around the teachers’ protected industrial action last week. Your support for our teachers is very much appreciated.
Congratulations to Jett and Keon who participated in the Gympie District Athletics trials recently. Whilst our other competitors had to submit their times and distances due to being on camp, Jett and Keon represented our school and the Mary Valley cluster with incredible effort.
Thank you to all of those who have already completed the Parent/Caregiver Survey. If you have not had a chance to complete the survey yet, please note that the online surveys will remain open until Friday, 22 August 2025. This is your opportunity to provide feedback about what our school does well and how we can improve. To have your say, check your email for an invitation from the Department of Education titled School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2025. Can’t find your invitation? If your family has more than one parent/caregiver, check that they haven’t received the invitation and/or check your junk email folder.
We had some very ‘adventurous’ dress ups for our 2025 Book Week: Book an adventure on Tuesday. Our students at Amamoor have a deep love of reading and it was a wonderful day to celebrate all about books. Our second Book Fair for the year will be held next Term in Week 4.
With the cooler starts to our days many students are wearing long sleeves. Please be reminded that: Jumpers/coats/skivvies need to be blue, have no logos/writing on them and definitely have NO hoods. Long pants need to be blue too. NO jeans. Socks need to be worn at ankle height. Hats need to be brought to school every day or left in designated areas in classrooms. The Amamoor P&C have a large range of new and gently used uniforms available for gold coin donation if you need more uniforms for your growing student.
Friday 5th September is a student free day. Kidz Mob Outside of School Hours Care will be operating from 7:30am – 5:30pm. Families need to be registered to use the service by Wednesday 3rd September. If you are not already signed up for Kidz Mob, use this enrolment link: https://www.owna.com.au/enrol.aspx?c=kidzmobamamoor
OFFICE UPDATE

Reminder - Invoices Due
Invoices for bus expenses have recently been sent home and reminder notices sent. We kindly ask families to ensure payments are made by the due date to help us cover costs and keep programs running smoothly.
Thank you to those who have already paid.
If you have any questions or need assistance with payment options, please contact the office - we're here to help.
BUS FEES:
Just a reminder that once bus fees have been paid, they are non-refundable. We understand that plans can sometimes change, but unfortunately, we're unable to return payments if travel is not used.

SCIENCE WEEK
MARY VALLEY RATTLER

An amazing day of Steam train (Mary Valley Rattler) and STEAM activities organised by the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee and Barambah Environmental Education Centre.
The STEAM Train kicks off Science Week with students learning today about soil science, habitats, robotics, displays, macro-invertebrate sampling and art activities.
A massive thanks to our Year 3-6 parents for helping car pool into the Rattler station. We were so lucky to walk back to school from the Friends of Amamoor Village Green.
On Friday Years 3-6 students will be travelling to Mary Valley College to participate in Science Activity Day to finish off the week.

P&C UPDATES
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our P&C plays a big role in supporting our school by helping to fundraise and keep costs down for families. Without volunteers, the P&C wouldn't be able to continue this important work-which would mean parents may need to pay more for excursions, resources and other activities.
Even a small amount of your time can make a big difference. If you'd like to get involved, please contact the office or come along to our next P&C meeting. September 2: 3.15 pm in the Prep Playground.

Without fundraising efforts, the costs of school activities, excursions and resources would need to be covered directly by families. Every dollar raised helps keep these opportunities affordable and ensures our school environment continues to thrive for all students.
Your P&C has contributed $5500 through fundraiser events for our students to attend the Canberra Excursion without Fundraising that cost would have been passed onto our Parents to pay.
Swimming in Term 1 cost our parents $30 per student without P&C assistance the cost passed onto Parents would have been $45 per student.
SCHOOL PARKING
NO PARKING IN THE RED ZONE
Please be mindful that there is no parking in the red zone, in map attached. We ask all families to park safely and considerately, ensuring residential houses, driveways remain clear at all times. Your cooperation supports the safety and accessibility of our school community.
There is plenty of car spaces in the designated car parks for our families.
