2025 TERM 3 WEEK 8
PRINCIPAL REPORT

Teacher Aide Appreciation Week
This week is Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. This week we take the opportunity to recognise the valuable contributions teacher aides make in supporting teaching, learning and our school community and the vital role they all play in building a better & brighter Amamoor. Thank you to our school community who have supported and assisted in helping us celebrate our amazing team of teacher aides. I personally, am very thankful for all that they do for our students, teachers and wider community. Three cheers for Mrs Story, George, Mrs Alford and our volunteer teacher aide Mrs Headley.
Student Free Day
Friday 5th September is a Student Free Day for all Queensland schools. Our school will be closed to our students on this day with staff completing professional learning instead of normal duties. Thank you for ensuring you have alternative care arrangements for your child on this day.
Lapathon Colour Run
We are gearing up for an exciting last day of Term 3. All students will be provided with a white t-shirt. Pizza lunch can be ordered no later than Friday 12th September. The P&C would appreciate any help with items to make our course exciting such as pool noodles, garden sprinklers, tarps etc.
Parent/Teacher interviews
We are about to commence our parent/teacher interviews for Semester Two. Year ½ will have their parent meetings with their class teacher this term with the remainder being held at the start of Term 4.
These will be held in your child’s classroom with each interview allocated 10 minutes. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher to discuss celebrations and/or concerns regarding your child’s learning. Thank you for also connecting with your child’s classroom teacher to make an alternative time to connect if the current bookings are not convenient.
Outside School Hours Care – Vacation Care
The September school holidays are rapidly approaching and Kidz Mob will be running vacation care from 6am until 6pm on Mondays to Fridays. They have minimum requirement of students to attend so to ensure that the day/s you require please book in early.
2026 Prep Enrolment & Transition
Our enrolment process for Prep 2026 has begun. We would like to welcome any children who were born between the 1st July, 2020 to 30th June, 2021. If your child was born in this time, they are required to start Prep next year.
In Queensland, Prep is a compulsory year of schooling and will provide the foundation for your child’s education. It is important that we enrol students for Prep 2026 as early as possible, as this will enable us to plan for next year. There will be a series of transition sessions planned for our new students, these will include important information for starting school and will also play an important role in preparing your child for Prep.
These transition sessions will be held on:
- Friday 17th October 9:30 – 11:30am
- Friday 24th October 9:30 – 11:30am
- Friday 31th October 9:30 – 11:30am
- Friday 7th November 9:30 – 11:30am
If you have a child who is starting Prep in 2026, please contact the office on 5401 1333 for an enrolment pack and we will be in touch to book an enrolment interview. Alternatively, please call the office to book.
We look forward to meeting with you soon.

P&C News & Updates
Appreciation for our Muster Crew
A huge thank you to our amazing muster crew for all their hours of hard work! Your dedication has helped make this year’s efforts such a success.
Raffle Round-Up
Our last pub raffle on 24th August raised $324.50! Huge thanks to Jess for continuing to take this on for our school.
At the Pre-Muster Party, our volunteers ran the meat tray raffles and 100’s board – raising over $1,000! These funds will go towards future excursions and equipment for all students. We’re excited to share that we’ve secured this fundraiser again for next year.
Tuckshop Update
A very special thank you to Lena for running tuckshop this year – we’re so grateful for the time and effort she’s given our kids. Moving forward, Jess has kindly volunteered to take on the role for next term. She’s looking for helpers to join a rotating roster and would love ideas for new tuckshop specials. If you’re able to volunteer, even just once a term, please contact Jess. A gentle reminder: if we don’t have enough volunteers, tuckshop may need to drop back to fortnightly or once a month.
Next P&C Meeting
The next P&C meeting will be held on (TBA after tomorrow's meeting). New parents are always encouraged to come along – we’d love to see you there!
